There is a good amount of symbolism in this picture. I put the picture in black and white because it's more mature looking. I chose not to smile in this picture because of course not smiling gives a more older and more serious look in a picture. Of course I may mature just a little more in four years or hopefully become a lot more responsible but that's just what everyone expects. I thought putting music sheets in the background also shows a little bit more about me. Music and art is like everything to me right now and I hope it still is by the time I am a senior.

                   I will achieve this transformation by being able to change and look at things a little different." I had never seen a painting made from the beginning. I thought that you painted what you saw, using the colors you saw." (99) This quote goes with this because like Griet, you don't quite know how to fit in with others, but this quote shows that there is more to view in life that others don't see. Griets' view is different because of all the encounters, and a change is something that I want for the better.

                    "I was worried about my family, not about how clean I could get the floors or how white the sheets." (64) This also relates with me because Griet is all worried about her family and  not about moving on and forgetting. Yes, family is important but you have to move on, I don't want to be like Griet which is another I will hopefully achieve.
